Space For All Our Stuff
With support from The Rockefeller Foundation, Foresight Alliance recently completed an 18-month research project on the global future of work and workers. Our report,The Futures of Work, is intended to help the philanthropic and development communities understand and address the challenges that poor and vulnerable workers may meet going forward.
But the changing nature of work will also impact every industry sector, the consumers they serve, and the workforce they employ. To begin to explore these important implications we focused on a sector where I worked for more than 20 years–the food industry. Following is a brief overview of some important challenges and opportunities the food industry will face as the world of work changes over the next several decades. If you’re part of that industry we’d love to help you dig into these implications in more depth. And we look forward to exploring The Futures of Work in other industry sectors.
