Mark Justman delights in uncovering anomalies that undercut the conventional wisdom and illuminate new directions for the possible future.

Mark has worked as a professional futurist for over a decade, for both the Institute for Alternative Futures and Social Technologies (now Innovaro). His professional work has generally involved proprietary consulting for multinational companies facing long-term decision making challenges, including Shell, Ford Motor Co., Johnson Controls, Motorola, British Petroleum, McDonald’s, Carlsberg Beverages, and the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG). His work for clients has primarily focused on qualitative futures research in the form of trend reports, technology assessment, scenario development, and wildcard and emerging issues analysis. While specific approaches vary according to client needs, Mark is expert at gleaning new value for clients by combining the pressing business concerns of today with the longer-term trends and emerging issues that are poised to transform tomorrow.

He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists, and has published in foresight, a professional journal for foresight practitioners, and in mainstream business publications such as the UK-based The New Economy.
